Think Outside the Business Card
Your brand is more than a logo, it’s time to start thinking outside the business card. “I put my logo on everything, isn’t that enough?” That’s not how this works… that’s not how any of this works. Let’s put it this way: Everybody has a mom. Last I checked none of them were named “Mom”.
But we all have an idea of what “Mom” is and we have attached all of those feelings to our own mothers (the good and the bad). That is kind of the relationship between a logo and a brand. The logo tells us what something is and the brand is how we feel about that thing.
More than a Logo, a Brand
When creating a logo we do a dance with legibility, versatility, color, psychology, positioning and good design practices. It’s really not a flattering process to watch, but the results are visual identities worth attaching some emotion to.
